| It was (almost) Bonfire night across the UK so the hot bodies at TX celebrated with a disco inferno on SATURDAY 6 NOVEMBER 2004 |

| "Oh, what a night!"... One of the most exciting in quite some time as 160 of you turned up to enjoy a (thankfully) unexplosive night at Trans-MISSION. If you weren't aware, here is the story: |
|
At around 8.30pm we noticed that the end of Long Lane, where our venue, the Extra Time Bar is located, had been courdoned off by the City of London Police. A quick chat with one of the bobbies on the scene and we discovered that a vehicle had been abandoned in a nearby street and that the police were treating it suspiciously. One quiet hour later, at 9.30pm they carried out a controlled explosion of the vehicle (which apparently involved squirting jets of water at it) and, thankfully, it turned out to be a false alarm. What it meant was that for over an hour, no-one could get to (or leave!) Trans-MISSION... At the behest of the police, those of us who were already in the Extra Time Bar went into the basement and drank tea and sang old war songs until the crisis was over! (Some or all of the previous sentence may be untrue). |

So now you understand the comment about it being an unexplosive night!Whilst we pity the poor night-owl who probably parked their car to go looking for a cash machine, returned to find the area closed-off and finally returned to his (or her) car to find that it had been soaked by the bomb squad, it didn't dampen the spirits of those who made it along to what turned out to be yet another fizzy, fabulous, fun party. And this month we handed over the weighty responsibility for our monthly photocall to none other than the beautiful, bosomy Shawna (pictured on the right). Keep an eye open for her at coming Trans-MISSIONs as she will be our regular photographeress! |
